Cargo Fall to Utah United 0-2
Stockton- The Stockton Cargo SC (11-1-2), saw their dream season come to an end on Sunday Night as they fell to Utah United, 0-2, in the USL W Western Conference Final. First Half Goals from Kaylie Chambers and Seven Chastain, on a poorly called Penalty Kick at the end of the First Half, gave Utah their margin of victory.
The Cargo attempted a come back in the 2nd half, but that comeback was stunted by the Center Referee Kevin Lewis, who felt the need to make himself the star attraction of the second half, handing out red cards to both Cargo Head Coach Marek Albert and the Cargo Team Medical Professional.
None the less, it was a magical season for the Cargo, who saw their first ever USL W League Playoff Berth, along with an undefeated regular season and a USL W NorCal Division Title, along with a fifth consecutive victory in the 209 Clasico.
Individually, both Mika Sayfurahman and Vanessa Penuna achieved USL W Team of the Month Honors, and Hannah Diaz became the all-time Cargo leader in goals scored.
But most of all, this year’s Stockton Cargo captured the imagination of so many in the City of Stockton, became role models to so many little girls, and boys, and represented the City on their crest with pride in 2025…and they are already looking forward to running it back again in 2026.
