Becomes the 2nd Cargo Player in 2025 to earn the honor
Stockton– Stockton Cargo SC Midfielder Vanessa Penuna was named by the USL W League to their May Team of the Month June. With 6 goals and two assists in the 2025 season for the NorCal Division Winning Cargo, Penuna becomes the third Cargo player ever, and second in 2025, to be honored with such a distinction.
A native of Fresno, Penuna came to the Cargo with extensive overseas experience, having spent time playing for Boca Juniors in Argentina and Toluca in Mexico Liga MX Femil. Her biggest goals this season came at opportune times, as Penuna scored both the goal that clinched the USL W NorCal Division for the Cargo, along with a goal in the 88th minute during the ULS W Western Conference Semi Final vs. Santa Clarita that started the Cargo on their way to their come from behind victory.
